Who We Are
The Sri Lanka – NORDIC Business Council was inaugurated in the year 2001, with the primary objective to promote trade, tourism investment and services between Sri Lanka and Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland and vice versa.
The Sri Lanka – NORDC Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce continues to act as the vital link between Sri Lanka and the partner countries, to develop new initiatives and areas of corporation in terms of trade, tourism and investment. The Business Council membership comprise a wide spectrum of companies engaged in infrastructure, logistics and services, financial services, tourism and leisure, import and export trading, manufacturing, ICT and telecommunication.
Our objectives
- To promote tourism and trade between Sri Lanka and the Nordic countries, namely Sweden / Denmark / Norway / Finland, and in particular to promote exports from Sri Lanka to Sweden / Denmark / Norway / Finland.
- To exchange information on trade and investment with the appropriate bodies in Sweden / Denmark / Norway / Finland.
- To encourage the establishment of joint ventures in Sri Lanka between Swedish / Danish / Norwegian / Finnish and Sri Lankan investors.
- To conduct joint meetings with Swedish / Danish / Norwegian / Finnish business organizations in Sri Lanka and in Sweden / Denmark / Norway / Finland.
- To serve as a recognized representative of business sector interests in Sri Lanka in matters concerning business relationships with Sweden / Denmark/ Norway / Finland.
- To co-operate with the Government of Sri Lanka in the pursuit of the above objects.
- To undertake all matters that are incidental or conducive to attaining the above objects.
